About Terry Sling
Our History
Terry Sling was conceived, and its first prototypes were created in 2014. The inventor, who had recently taken up surfing in Huntington Beach, California, noticed a common challenge among beginners: many struggled to carry their longboards comfortably from their vehicles to the shore. Instead of carrying them properly, they often resorted to balancing boards on their heads or dragging them along the ground, especially when using rentals. This called for a solution. With a large envelope, a phone cable, and plenty of sellotape, the first prototype of Terry Sling came to life.
The name "Terry Sling" was inspired by the idea that some people had arms too short for their boards, reminiscent of a T-Rex dinosaur. This clever play on words, along with a nod to the Pterodactyl, blended with a bit of British humour, ultimately led to the creation of the Terry Sling.
